- Tufted Titmouse (this one got me started trying to identify birds at all and is still my favorite)
- Blue Jay
- Downy Woodpecker
- Red-bellied Woodpecker
- Cardinal
- Carolina Wren
- Dark-eyed (Slate colored) Junco
- Ruby-crowned Kinglet
- Carolina Chickadee
- White breasted nuthatch
- Red tailed hawk
- Red shouldered hawk (I think. Too far away and a bad angle. May have been Broad-winged Hawk.)
- American Robin
- Gray Catbird
- Northern Flicker
- Pine Warbler
- House finch
- Eastern bluebird
- (and I hear lots of owls, but never see them)
Elsewhere in NC:
- Rufous-sided Towhee (in bushes outside Ambulatory Care Center)
Elsewhere:
- Common grackles (Albany, NY and San Francisco, CA
- Red-winged blackbird (Albany, NY near the airport)
